Power Convertors

Raytheon UK’s multi-phase power converters employ active power factor correction for improved harmonic performance.

Our power supplies include small, flexible power convertors that can be used for military and civilian applications, from DC-DC converters (up to 10kW) and single and multiphase AC-DC converters (up to 30kW).

For example, Raytheon UK’s Power Conditioning Units, designed and manufactured in Scotland, are supplied on the PhantomStrike TM Radar System, enabling the radar to be smaller, lighter, quieter and require less power.

Solid state power switch nodes

These components provide platforms with easy-to-use power management, including fully protected solid-state switching under the control of the platform's serial data bus.

Our high current power switching devices replace mechanical relays within vehicle and aircraft electric infrastructure/power systems. With a ‘mean time between failure’ of over 130,000 hours, these devices improve system reliability and reduce the average time between repairable failures of a product; enabling customers to operate a device for a longer period of time without it needing repair.

Power distribution and power switching units

We have a range of products that provide platforms 28V – 600Vdc power distribution, or provide a high current interface for alternator, platform batteries and NATO Slave Socket.

Our capabilities also include a bi-directional primary power convertor, used to connect vehicles to grid. These systems are capable of providing battery charging of a platform but can also be used to convert the DC power from the battery into usable single phase AC output.

Our smart power supplies enable us to generate usage data, configure bespoke performance based on location or mission and to incorporate battery state of life monitoring.
