Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) can provide teams of qualified personnel at customer sites, working in multi-disciplined environments to project manage any number of complex programmes. It provides engineers to maintain and run systems ranging from Early Warning Radars to Battlefield Simulation Trainers.
The success of RSL's support service is in the adoption of a proven, well-structured approach using the best methodologies available.
Typical military and civil programmes managed to date include: Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority for the Improved UK Air Defence Ground Environment; Systems Co-ordinating Installation Design Authority for the Primary War Headquarters; Systems Co-ordinating Installation Design for the Joint Maritime Communication Information System; the provision of Resident Maintenance Engineers to support the Higher Formation Trainers (part of the Command and Staff Trainers, used by the British Army and their allies); and a team of engineers to support the Solid State Phased Array Radar for the UK's Ballistic Missile Early Warning System at RAF Fylingdales.
The type of services provided include:
System Design and System Integration support: the design of a system, production of system diagrams and identification of all interfaces and parameters.
Configuration Management: utilising data base techniques to establish and then maintain the “as built” status of the documentation and drawings associated with a system or its infrastructure.
Installation Design: using CAD facilities, and taking into account all installation requirements. Specialist support is also provided for design standards covering TEMPEST, EMC, EMPP. RADHAZ and Safety. Control Plans are produced for these standards to ensure that they are adhered to as specified during the installation phase.
Co-ordination of Installation Design: to ensure that all the agreed technical requirements are adhered to during Installation Design of the facility including the Works Services elements.
RSL engineers are currently based at Ministry of Defence stations across the UK and Europe and the company has been involved in service contracts since 1981 working with the DCSA coordinating installation design. In early 2004 RSL won the contract for support to the SSPAR at RAF Fylingdales.
