The site at Glenrothes was opened on 31st August, 1960. At that time the business was part of the Hughes organisation and the factory was built to manufacture general-purpose diodes at a rate of 13 million per year.
1963
Single Shot Thermal Relay for missile application is produced.
1968
Design, development and manufacture of electronic connectors and interconnection systems to met the most demanding high technology and military requirements.
1970
Calculators were designed and produced for the commercial market during the early days of calculator development. Glenrothes also started to produce circuits for a range of TV touch tuner, telephone, military, communications and oil exploration applications.
1975
Production of chips for the emerging electronic watch market.
1989
First AMRAAM Control Section produced. Glenrothes is now sole supplier for this unit and has produced over 6,500 to date.
1998
With the acquisition of Hughes defence business by Raytheon the Glenrothes facility becomes part of Raytheon Systems Limited.
