Raytheon, a major supplier and pioneer of Mode S Monopulse Secondary Surveillance Radar (MSSR) systems technology, has been selected to deliver a European MSSR system for Berlin’s new gateway airport, Berlin Brandenburg International.

The radar system, for DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung GmbH (DFS) the German air navigation service provider, is to be delivered within one year in anticipation of the opening of the airport in 2012.
