ASTOR Achieves One Year Enduring Operations
The ASTOR (Airborne Stand-Off Reconnaissance System) has reached one full year of enduring operations with the Royal Air Force.
Paveway™IV Successfully Released from Typhoon
Raytheon’s Paveway™ IV Precision Guided Bomb has been successfully integrated with the Eurofighter Typhoon multi-role fighter with a planned Initial Operational Capability in 2011. The integration with the Typhoon follows the successful operational deployment of Paveway™ IV on the Harrier GR9 and its subsequent clearance under an Urgent Operational Requirement on the Tornado GR4.
Raytheon supplying U.K. MOD with Defence Targeting Toolset
Raytheon is working to advance the speed of military operations through a contract with the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MOD) by delivering a Defence Targeting Toolset (DTT) capability. Initially aimed at Land operations and eventually benefiting Joint operations, DTT will provide the MOD with a toolset of software applications. DTT offers coherent planning for targeting and operations that enable coordinated effects with limited resources. It also improves the ability to prosecute Time Sensitive Targets.

Teaming: Raytheon and Serco Partner on U.K. MOD Joint Military Air Traffic Services
Raytheon Company and Serco Limited are partnering to submit a Raytheon-led proposal to provide Joint Military Air Traffic Services (JMATS) to the U.K. Ministry of Defence (MOD). Under the proposal, Raytheon will provide its U.K.-based radar manufacturing and support capability for JMATS systems, and Serco will provide operations and support services.

Providing ATM Systems for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Raytheon has been awarded a contract by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) for a nationwide air traffic management (ATM) system based upon Cooperative Surveillance. The contract will extend air traffic control surveillance throughout the Kingdom. It will also enhance flight safety for international traffic and the rapidly growing domestic airline sector, and improve the overall efficiency of Saudi Arabia’s air traffic management system.

Raytheon Appointed main sub-contractor to undertake crucial ETT contract for MOD’s DTR
Raytheon has been chosen as the main sub-contractor to deliver the MODs £31 million Early Training Transformation (ETT) contract, won by the Metrix consortium. This contract is vital to delivering the MOD’s £12 billion U.K. Defence Training Rationalisation (DTR) Package 1 PFI Project, for which Metrix is the Preferred Bidder. The ETT contract is the first major deal under the DTR and marks the first important steps toward providing key improvements to the Armed Forces’ technical trade training. Raytheon is a principal member of the Metrix consortium.

GPS Units: 5000th On-Time Delivery
Raytheon has achieved its delivery of 5,000 GPS (Global Positioning Systems) Anti-Jam units to the U.S/ Department of Defense. This significant milestone marks the ninth consecutive year of on-time deliveries of the system to customers in the U.S. and U.K. Raytheon’s GPS anti-jam systems protect weak points in the network-centric battlefield, while providing situational awareness in all environments. The benefits of the GPS system help to reduce casualties on the battlefield by an estimated 30 per cent (based U.K. Ministry of Defence simulations).
RSL awarded BSI standard partnering excellence
Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) has become one of the first leading U.K. companies in the defence, aviation and support services sectors to be awarded the British Standards Institution (BSI) PAS 11000 Certification. PAS 11000 is the world’s first collaborative relationship standard and provides a multi-stage framework to help organisations apply good partnering practice and manage valuable business relationships.
Lord Drayson, Minister for Science and Innovation, presented RSL with the award at a ceremony. He commented: “Partnering has become a fundamental part of creating a successful business and I hope that many other companies will follow the innovative lead of these businesses and achieve formal recognition of their success in partnering.”
