Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) is a rapidly growing, high technology company that is focussed on the defence, national security and commercial markets. Raytheon has had an indigenous design and manufacturing capability in the UK for more than 45 years while its UK roots go back more than a century. Today RSL operates sites in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The company has defined its core markets as Sensing, Effects, C3I, Mission Support, and Homeland/National Security. By working closely with its parent company in the US, RSL provides customers with comprehensive and low-risk solutions to their needs.

RSL is a Tier One supplier to the UK Ministry of Defence and is the prime contractor for a number of major programmes such as ASTOR (Airborne Stand-Off Radar), SIFF (Successor Identification Friend or Foe), PGB (Precision Guided Bomb) and JETTS (Joint Effects Tactical Targeting System). The company is also a major partner in the Metrix consortium that has been selected as the preferred bidder for the MoD’s Defence Training Review programme.

RSL is also the lead partner of Trusted Borders, the consortium that has won the contract for British Government’s e-Borders programme, a major initiative to create a modernised Intelligence-led, secure and integrated border control system for the 21st century.

The company operates a major software engineering facility and designs, develops and manufactures a wide range of advanced electronic products and systems. These include anti-jam GPS antenna systems, IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) and precision engagement systems. RSL also provides Integrated Logistics Support for major systems such as ABACUS, BMEWS, Paveway and Maverick.

RSL's commercial activities include Secondary Surveillance Radar systems for air traffic control and various integrated electronic systems, modules and sub-systems, power devices, hybrid electronics and semiconductors for the oil, gas, medical, automotive, space and communications industries.

In addition to being a key provider to the UK Government, RSL is also a major exporter of high technology systems to more than 40 countries including the US.
