In 2004 the Ministry of Defence opened an Integration and Test laboratory at the Warminster Land Warfare Centre (LWC) in Wiltshire, for the Joint Effects Tactical Targeting System (JETTS) programme. The unit is to help test new software and to evaluate new tactics and doctrine in a synthetic environment across a wide range of operational teams, such as indirect fire and joint operations. Known colloquially as the “JETTS Battlelab”, the facility has a full-time staff, including officers from all three Services and a team from RSL who support the integration, test, evaluation and acceptance process
The Combined and Staff Trainer (CAST) is also located within the LWC. There are three CAST sites: Warminster; Catterick in Yorkshire ; and Sennelager in Germany . This facility provides collective training for British Army and NATO Units from Battle Group through Divisional level to Corps. Raytheon personnel operate the facility, providing engineering support and system advice to the military.
