Broughton is home to both Raytheon Systems Limited (RSL) and Raytheon Aircraft Services Limited (which trades as Hawker Aircraft Services). The businesses are located at Hawarden Airport, Broughton, in North Wales, close to the city of Chester.
RSL has developed its facility at Broughton to undertake systems integration work, in particular for the ASTOR (Airborne Stand-Off Radar) programme. Broughton is carrying out the modification, integration and test flying of the Sentinel R Mk 1 aircraft and the integration of the Ground Stations. In addition to utilising the site's own indigenous capability and skills in specialised airframe modification work, Broughton benefits from technology transfer from the United States.
Hawker Aircraft Services operates an aircraft service centre specialising in the maintenance, modification and repair of a range of aircraft types. On-site capabilities include design, avionics repair, interior modification and refurbishment and engine overhaul. The company also has a multi-discipline Supply Management Team which manages, on behalf of Raytheon Aircraft, the major and sub-tier supplier base for the Hawker aircraft, which is now assembled in Wichita , Kansas .
